5 steps to successfully apply your stickers without bubbles or flaws

At Pro Rider Design, we know how much a well-applied graphics kit makes all the difference. Nothing is more frustrating than a poorly applied sticker with air bubbles or creases! But don't worry, with a little patience and our tips, you will achieve a result worthy of the pros. Follow these 5 simple steps for a perfect and long-lasting application.

1. Prepare the surface of your motocross

First things first, your motocross must be clean! A dirty or greasy surface will prevent the adhesive from holding properly. Clean the plastics with a clean cloth and a mild degreasing product (isopropyl alcohol, soapy water). Make sure no residue remains and dry thoroughly. Good preparation is the key to long-lasting hold!

2. Pre-position your moto graphics kit

Don't rush! Before removing the protective film, position your custom moto graphics kit on the surface to check if it is properly aligned. You can use masking tape to hold it temporarily in place. This avoids any unpleasant surprise and allows you to adjust if needed before the final application.

3. Apply your moto cross graphics kit progressively

The trick is to take it slow. Gradually remove the protective film while applying the sticker using a squeegee or a rigid card. Start from one side and work your way across little by little, pushing the air outward. Take your time — that's the secret to a smooth and crease-free application.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to apply your graphics kit. Taking a quiet moment with time and patience for a perfect application that will last many years is far better than rushing and ending up with a result full of flaws and air bubbles.

4. Managing air bubbles in your custom moto covering

Despite all precautions, a few small bubbles may appear. Don't panic! Use a fine needle to pierce the bubble, then smooth your custom moto covering with a soft cloth. This technique allows the air to escape without damaging the design.

5. Finish your custom 50cc with heat

Once everything is properly in place, run a hairdryer over the motocross graphics kits (on medium heat setting, several centimeters from your bike). This softens the adhesive and ensures a better bond, especially on curved areas. Then press with a cloth to seal everything firmly. Your graphics kit is now securely in place and ready to handle the most intense rides for a long time!
